Job Description

DRG Professional Services is seeking an Aircraft Configuration Specialist III to support the aircraft industry in quality, state-of-the-art products and services to maximize the capability and performance of various aircraft. This role is responsible for assisting the Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul (MRO) and Technical Services departments in the control of documentation, reports, Drawings, STC packages and the oversight of the Configuration management Plan including Engineering change requests and Engineering Orders. This role is also responsible for the creation and configuration control of aircraft delivery books and data packages suitable for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) engineering substantiation.

  • Define configuration management tools and techniques by providing expertise.
  • Monitor and point of contact for all configuration change control processes.
  • Plan, prepare and support configuration audit activities.
  • Consolidate, and maintain document and product configuration control processes as laid out in company manuals.
  • Assign document numbers.
  • Provide day-to-day production and control of end-item product configurations consistent with established workflows for both current and new processes.
  • Create structured hierarchies and rules that technically control a multitude of valid product options, verification of ERP data entry and verification of ordering system compliance with Engineering rules.
  • Manage the integrity, quality, availability, revision and control of engineering hardware documentation for both current and new process.
  • Management and execution of the document release process, assuring the Engineering vault security/integrity, and management of product and engineering data prior to release
  • Education: Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineer or similar field; or 5+ years of equivalent experience in Technical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or related scientific field required.
  • Experience: 5+ years in aviation and aircraft modification engineering environment required.
  • Excellent communication skills required.
  • Must have good command of the English language, oral and written.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management.

  • Knowledge and/or ability to assist in load and stress calculations.
  • Must be able to interpret and generate technical data.
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office and Adobe required; Share point/Huddle or other document control software required.
  • Required Certificates and Licenses: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
