Business Improvement Coordinator

DRG Professional Services has partnered with the leading vertically integrated mining and inorganic chemical business in the world and are looking for a Business Improvement Coordinator.

Must have the ability to interact and communicate effectively with various levels of the business, from shop floor, to professionals, though to senior management.

Job Responsibilities (Outputs)

Business Improvement Strategy:

  • Drives strategic the company's business Plans at the site levels through business improvement activities with the global BI teams
  • Contributes to the current and future performance of the site and region by developing and translating continuous improvement strategies into implementation plans, in close liaison with site leadership
  • Contributes to the achievement of site and regional production and business objectives by providing supporting services and systems including: business planning frameworks, Change Management strategies, and the company's Way standards gap analysis
  • Support operations with cultural change management to align with the business strategy
  • Identify new business opportunities to support business strategy
  • Identification of cost drivers’ and support tracking of efficiency improvements.
  • Identify and investigate problems, lead the development of solutions toward optimizing applicable processes /systems
  • Provides training and supports the application of process improvement strategies and techniques, including: improvement planning, value stream mapping, cause and effect analysis, role and responsibility definition, Lean Manufacturing, and the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) process

Operational Excellence & the the company's Way:

  • Manages site the company's Way Operational Excellence program
  • Oversees and facilities the site cost improvement programs supporting the Site Leadership Team (Site Manager, T&I Manager)
  • Site Leadership Team facilitation of ‘Accelerate’ and OE roadmap development and updates
  • Sustains the the company's Way Program through creation and maintenance of site and regional improvement roadmap
  • Develops dashboards to track Key Performance Indicators for various departments
  • Drives the identification and implementation of continuous business improvement initiatives
  • Participation and support of Global Centers of Excellence Teams


  • Routine performance reporting on cost improvement, operational excellence and business plans (weekly, monthly, quarterly)

Primary Location Hamilton, MS - Pigment Plant

Qualification Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business

Area: Technology & Improvement

Reporting to: Technology & Improvement Manager

Years of Related Prior Experience: Minimum 5 years in Business Improvement or similar role:

  • Achievement of Site Production & Improvement Objectives
  • Manages Operational Excellence "the company's Way" Program
  • Develops Standards to Ensure Best BI Practices In Place
