DRG Professional Services is partnered with Oklahoma's largest, most complex health system. We are looking for an experienced RN to step into a Director of Infection Prevention and Control leadership position and provide strategic direction for infection prevention and infection control programs and practices.

This is a direct hire, leadership opportunity with a Level 1 Academic University Hospital. This "Not For Profit" hospital is beginning its Magnet journey and currently experiencing phenomenal growth. Due to this growth, this position offers significant opportunity for career advancement.

General Description: As a member of the leadership team, provides strategic direction for infection prevention and infection control programs and practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Participates in the development of strategies and action plans to improve quality and safety outcomes associated with infection prevention and infection control programs including risk assessment, policies and procedures, goals and target setting.
  • Responsible for activities related to analysis and improvement of infection prevention and infection control metrics, processes and outcomes.
  • Responsible for the implementation, coordination and monitoring of concurrent and retrospective infection prevention and control programs and risk assessments for the hospital and medical staff.
  • Participates in quality improvement projects and medical staff review activities to assess, evaluate and identify opportunities for improving quality and patient safety outcomes with a focus on infection prevention and infection control practices.
  • Reviews data and metrics on a regular basis including National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) management software programs, publicly reported data and regulatory metrics.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements including state, The Joint Commission, and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid service.
  • Supervises and manages the work of departmental staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Master’s level education required; without a BSN, Master’s level of education must be a MSN
Experience:
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ clinical experience, with two (2) years’ experience in infection prevention and infection control as well as a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in management.
Licensure/Certifications/Registrations Required:
  • Licensed by the State of Oklahoma Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
  • Certification and Lean Six Sigma or other performance improvement (IHI, CUSP, PSA) training preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of hospital systems and processes.
  • Knowledge of health care theory, practices and techniques.
  • Knowledge of the requirements of regulatory agencies, public reporting and quality payment programs.
  • Skill in planning and administrating performance improvement activities.
  • Ability to prepare reports.
  • Excellent computer and data analysis skills.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others
