Job Title and Grade IT Applications Architect - Production Planner & Quality Management Business Analyzer

Qualification Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s degree or equivalent experience is required

Reporting to: Director of Non-Finance Global ERP Infrastructure Services

Years of related prior experience: Minimum 5 years of hands on configuration experience in SAP PP module and a minimum of 5 years of hands on configuration experience in SAP QM module are a must.

Reporting to the Director ERP Applications, this is a key role within the global IT organization with responsibility for Production Planning & Quality Management business value stream. The role will bring the expertise in analyzing both evolutionary and transformational improvement opportunities within the realm of Production and Quality, i.e. production process. With a strong vision and an aggressive growth path, this company has significant opportunities for improvement from a business process perspective.

Responsibilities

The Architect, Production Planner will work as a partner with the business users to understand their requirements and identify business process improvement opportunities and architect solutions (including business processes, business change and technology solution components). He/she will act as a thought leader and a change agent driving consensus across this functional domain. The main responsibilities of the position are covered below:

  • Business relationship manager to local plants to define business requirements, identify gaps and partner with PP Global Applications Delivery Team to determine the appropriate system configurations.
  • Onboard new functionality by executing projects from end-to-end, by participating in activities ranging from requirements gathering, gap analysis, process documentation, data cleansing, test planning and execution, training documentation and support.
  • Prepare summary level presentations and facilitate future state system design and process workshops to obtain user acceptance.
  • Perform and/or oversee; configuration of SAP applications, creation of positive/negative unit test scripts, and execution of unit tests.
  • Create and/or support creation of integration/user acceptance test scenarios and scripts as well as facilitate and provide direct support for user testing.
  • Create and/or support creation of cutover plan and scripts as well as facilitate and provide direct support for production migration and go-live stabilization.
  • Provide status updates on assigned work to management and, when required, act as a project manager on small to medium-sized projects.
  • Perform in cross-functional team environments where strong interpersonal communication skills are essential. In certain situations, teams may be geographically diverse or involve other partners.
  • Assume primary responsibility for the successful implementation under hard and fast deadlines.

Skills/Competencies

  • Extensive experience of engaging with stakeholders throughout the organization and externally is required.
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills is required.
  • Deep technical expertise (Architect level) with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on configuration experience in SAP PP module and a minimum of 5 years of hands-on configuration experience in SAP QM module are a must.
  • Experience managing processes, process improvement, production planning, controls, instrumentation and dealing with complex chemicals and mining processes
  • SAP reporting experience covering SAP BOBJ and BW is highly desired.
  • Experience working in a global organization with focus on driving standardization across the organization is highly desired.
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills required. Exposure to lean six sigma techniques would be desirable.
  • Prior experience working with offshore support would be necessary.
  • Experience in leading technical teams and Project Management is a must. Highly self-motivated with a can-do attitude.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills. Should be able to mediate opposing viewpoints.
  • Production Planning:
    • Sales and Operations Planning
    • Planning strategies like Make to Stock, Make to Order, make to order with Variant configuration, Planning with Planning material
    • Long Term Planning with SOP to analyze the annual plans from SOP with relevance to capacity planning and procurement
    • Demand Management and Material Requirement Planning (MRP)
    • Product Costing based on Production master data like Bill of Materials, Routings and Procurement master data like Purchase info records and Overhead calculations
    • Discrete Production and Repetitive Manufacturing with Serial number management.
    • Variant configuration for Bill of Materials and Characteristics for Sales
    • Production interfaces with legacy Production systems
    • Bill of Materials, Work Centers, Routings, Production Versions, Classes, Characteristics etc.
    • Maintenance order costing and integration with MRP for Purchasing
    • Procurement of Services and using Service entry sheets
    • Structuring the technical objects like Functional locations and equipment to derive maximum benefits of reporting from analysis perspective
  • Quality Management:
    • QM Master data setup for capturing quality testing information using Physical sample method
    • Batch classification linked inspection lots to capture all the additional information required by the business
    • Experience managing processes, process improvement, production planning, controls, instrumentation and dealing with complex chemicals and mining processes
    • Business knowledge and process design skills
    • Good familiarity with business processes relating to mining / chemicals.
  • Work well in a fast-paced team environment.
  • SAP certification is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or a Master’s degree or equivalent is required.
