Job Description


The Mortgage Loan Processor is responsible for accurately managing a mortgage lending pipeline, process the loans through our established procedures and review all documentation to ensure it is completed and complies with current internal and external secondary market guidelines and banking regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review initial loan application and work closely with loan originator to ensure new submissions are complete and accurate
  • Input/review loan information within Encompass Software to ensure loan files meet lending and regulatory guidelines and policies
  • Work with the borrower to gather any additional financial information and documentation to complete mortgage loan application
  • Order property and loan documentation such as appraisals, inspections, title searches, property tax records, hazard insurance, income and asset verifications
  • Prepare and submit complete loan file to lender underwriter for approval or denial
  • Act as liaison between applicants, loan originator, real estate agents and mortgage lending underwriters to help insure loan approval
  • Perform review process before loan is sent for closing. This process includes, but is not limited to, confirm accuracy of loan amount, loan rate, term, purpose, escrow balances, legal description, vesting and balancing of final Closing Disclosure with title company
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education And/Or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) to three (3) years of mortgage processing experience preferred


  • Experience in mortgage lending and knowledge of loan types, such as Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word)
  • Functional knowledge of Mortgage Loan Origination software, preferably Encompass
  • Familiar with mortgage loan process and required documentation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented and ability to work under pressure of deadlines
  • Must be familiar with various rules and regulations as it pertains to mortgage real estate lending
  • All candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment background, credit, and drug screening

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Sitting for long periods of time.

Working Conditions:

The working conditions are generally comfortable with minimal exposure to noise, heat, dust and other related items. All employees are required to maintain a neat and safe work area.
