This is a direct hire (not travel or contract), opportunity with a Level 1 Academic University Hospital. Position Description: Recognized by peers and supervisors as an expert in one or more areas of Diagnostic Radiology and under general supervision, performs advanced level professional work in exposing and processing standard and specialized radiographic images and fluoroscopy examinations. This person has abilities and skills to circulate to other diagnostic radiology areas (For example, surgery, trauma, and pediatrics). May be certified and perform procedures in one or more specialized radiology modalities.

  • Operates standard and portable radiology equipment to perform radiographic examinations and fluoroscopy studies, including intravenous pyelography, cystography, gastro-intestional series and body section radiography
  • Assists physicians and performs standard and specialized images
  • Trouble shoots and resolves problems regarding equipment and/or film output for themselves and other employees
  • Acts as a trainer and preceptor for radiological employees and/or students
  • May produce images of a patient’s body in Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, or Special Procedures
  • Maintains records, inventory, and equipment for area of primary responsibility

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiological Technology program
  • Two (2) years as a Radiographer and skilled in multiple diagnostic radiology areas or in one or more specialized areas
Licensure/Certifications/Registrations Required:
  • Licensed by the American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT).
  • BLS upon hire.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of the techniques of diagnostic and other specialized radiographic modalities and of the operation and maintenance of the various types of radiographic equipment.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments.
  • Ability to assess, treat, and care for patients of varying ages.
  • Good interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate technical information in such a way that patients and/or parents can understand the procedure and what is expected of them.
  • Computer skills.
